Overview

The Portugal-USA Cancer Initiative offers multiple pathways for engagement, enabling faculty, early career researchers, and volunteers to contribute to cutting-edge cancer research, mentorship, and community outreach. Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to faculty members from leading cancer research institutions in Portugal and the USA.
  • Must have a strong research background in cancer biology, oncology, translational medicine, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated commitment to mentorship and international collaboration.

Application Process

  • Faculty members can apply through an open call for participation in programs such as:
  • Visiting Professorships (host or be hosted by an international partner)
  • Collaborative Research Grants (joint Portugal-USA projects)
  • Cancer Course Teaching Opportunities (mentoring Ph.D. and postdoctoral trainees)
  • Applications are reviewed by a Scientific Advisory Board based on scientific excellence and program alignment.
